Mondev was founded in 1993 by David Owen. He launched his first project—an 18-unit townhome development in Pointe-aux-Trembles. A year later, a venture in Terrebonne led to significant losses, but David remained undeterred. He continued expanding Mondev’s development operations, delivering hundreds of residential units across Montreal by 2003.
Between 2003 and 2011, Mondev diversified its portfolio, incorporating commercial and mixed-use developments. Growth accelerated in 2011 when Michael Owen joined the company, helping to construct thousands of new units. The company’s legacy strengthened further in 2017 as David’s sons, Jordan and Mark, became partners, bringing fresh perspectives and a spirit of innovation. Today, Mondev stands as a leading real estate developer in Montreal, shaping the city’s urban landscape.

David Owen, with over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, a degree in Honours Business Administration from Western Ivey, and a portfolio that includes more than 10,000 condos built and 2 million square feet of industrial space, is a highly respected figure in real estate development. His passion for shaping Montreal’s urban landscape is evident in every project, reflecting his deep connection to the city’s history, culture, and growth.
As the founder and Partner of Mondev, David oversees all phases of development, from land acquisition and zoning to design, construction, marketing, and customer service. His hands-on leadership ensures that each project embodies the craftsmanship and distinctive Montreal character that Mondev is known for. A Partner at Mondev, Michael Owen is a veritable expert in all areas of urban real estate. With a background in Commercial Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a BCOMM degree from the John Molson School of Business, and several other accreditations, Michael’s business and project development skills are bolstered by years of in-depth education and professional experience. His work has received awards and recognition throughout the industry and his name is synonymous with quality, integrity and success.
Michael Owen has more than 20 years experience in the real estate industry. Originally as one of Quebec’s top commercial real estate brokers, then as a member of Mondev’s team of owners.
Vital to Mondev’s business and development growth, Michael excels at bringing the vision of Mondev’s senior team to fruition though a detailed combination of business, project and development techniques.

MARK OWEN | PARTNER
Mark brings a strategic and analytical approach to real estate development and investment. Currently serving as a Partner at Mondev, Mark focuses on deal sourcing, financing, and deal structuring. He employs a methodical approach to identify opportunities and execute transactions that align with Mondev’s goals, contributing to the company’s sustained growth in Montreal’s real estate market.
Together with his brother, Jordan, and a dedicated team that includes two other partners, Mark co-founded SquareFeet.ai, a venture that successfully integrated artificial intelligence into real estate pricing. This team also played a key role in launching Bien Aller, an e-commerce platform that effectively met market demands during the challenging conditions of 2020.
Mark holds a Master’s in Real Estate from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McGill University. His solid foundation in academic theory, combined with practical experience and technical skills in multiple programming languages, enables him to lead complex projects from conception to completion.
Looking ahead, Mark is focused on further growth in his real estate career, exploring new methods to enhance efficiency and sustainability in development. His future aspirations include expanding Mondev’s portfolio, entering new markets, and continuing to innovate in real estate investment and development.
JORDAN OWEN | PARTNER
Fascinated by the real estate industry, Jordan began his career as a real estate broker at Colliers following his Bachelor of Finance from McGill. After several years in commercial brokerage, he migrated to real estate development by joining the family business.
He acquired an important expertise in the development of multi-residential real estate projects by acquiring land, developing projects, and selling real estate assets. Understanding that real estate pricing is critical to the success of a new development project, Jordan and Mark developed a simple model to optimize multi-residential real estate pricing and generated tremendous value for the firm.
Jordan currently focuses on ground-up real estate development, overseeing every phase from acquisitions to entitlements and project delivery. His hands-on approach has resulted in the successful completion of numerous mixed-use developments in Montreal. His impact on both the company and the built environment is significant and is poised to grow in the years ahead.
Realizing the impact of technology on the real estate industry, Jordan decided to continue his studies at one of the most prestigious universities in the world, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At MIT, he graduated with a master’s in real estate development and a Master in City Planning.
His thesis focused on data-driven transit oriented development and planning, which was presented to the senior executives at the ARTM. He has also published several academic works, notably one in Cities, a highly ranked academic journal, and a chapter titled “Economic Risks from Policy Pressures in Montreal Real Estate” in the textbook “Emerging Risks in Finance: Challenges and Opportunities for Investors, Institutions and Regulators.
Finally, Jordan and Mark have worked on two successful start-ups in retail and technology, namely Bien Aller and SquareFeet.ai.
MICHELINE GRECO | EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT OPERATIONS
Micheline joined the Mondev team as its first and sole employee after completing her studies, having been recruited for her high-level management and organizational skills, with an education consisting of a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Post-graduate certificate in Public Relations. Quickly becoming a key contributor to the company’s growth and success, she has been the right-hand to David since 1993, and is now the Executive Vice-President of Operations, the backbone of the business.
Her great range of qualifications and expertise has had a significant impact on all areas of the business, as her background in the sales, leasing, property management, accounting, and human resources departments led to a well-rounded mastery of the industry. Continuously striving to innovate and improve, Micheline has been an essential player to MONDEV’s expansion and accomplishments in the past three decades and is an undeniable asset to its sustainability.
Her careful attention to the business’ goals and interests, and her excellent leadership and positive attitude, have contributed to making MONDEV one of the largest real estate developers in the province.
